FAQ’s

Will you ice my cake?

No, I do not ice other people’s cakes. I pride myself in my reputation and use the finest quality ingredients in my cakes.

How do I transport my cake?

Your cake is best transported in the boot of the car as it is flat. It will be in a box (unless too large for a box) which will have a non-slip mat in so the cake will not slide around. It is important that you realise transporting cakes for any distance does come with its own risks. The Cake Tin does offer a delivery service so please feel free to enquire when booking your cake. This service is also extended to the greater Bay of Plenty region.

What are the payment terms?

A $100 non refundable deposit is payable at the time of booking your cake. This secures the date for you.
The balance is payable 10 days prior to your event. If you are paying by cheque payment is required 2 weeks prior to the event. Failure to make the payment in the due time may result in your cake not being ready for your date.

How do I store my cake before the event?

Your cake is best if placed in a cool dry place. Humidity and icing are not friends so try to keep your cake away from humid conditions.

What flavours do you have?

A list of flavours is available on request.
Please be advised that some flavours carry a surcharge due to the quantity of ingredients required.

Can you make gluten & nut free cakes and cater for those with allergies?

Yes I can make gluten free and nut free cakes. It is important to note that while these cakes will be made so as not to contain allergens for the customer, they are produced in an environment where gluten, nuts and dairy are generally used.
